Rally is one of our favorite sports here at Atlas Kennels. We enjoy rally because it incorporates obedience skills in a fun, positive environment. It's something like a combination of obedience and agility. There is a numbered course with each station holding a sign describing an exercise. The dog and handler traverse the course and perform each exercise. Some of the exercises are very simple (stop and sit) and others are more difficult (jumps, heeling backwards, heeling around food, moving stands). Novice/Level 1 is performed on leash and all other levels are off leash.
It's a very fun, positive, upbeat sport that has its own challenges just like any other sport. We also feel that rally is an excellent companion sport to agility, which is our main performance sport.
We participate in rally in AKC, UKC and APDT. Each organization had slightly different rules and challenges and we enjoy each of them for different reasons. All of our dogs are titled in rally in at least one organization.
We're so proud of our dogs and their accomplishments in rally. Just look at what they have accomplished:

- Third Place in AKC Advanced A Rally at the 2008 German Shepherd Dog Club National (Atlas)
- UKC Rally Obedience 1 (URO1) title (Atlas, Mira, Vegas, Anubis, Nadia)
- UKC Rally Obedience 2 (URO2) title (Mira)
- High in Trial at the first UKC Rally Obedience trial in Minnesota (Vegas)
- APDT Rally Level 1 (RL1) Title (Atlas, Mira, Vegas) and legs toward the title (Anubis)
- APDT Award of Excellent for Rally Level 1 (Atlas, Mira)
- Legs toward APDT Rally Level 2 Title (Atlas)
- APDT Rally Level 1 Championship (RL1X) (Atlas)
In addition to competing in rally, Tracie is a licensed UKC judge (#6932) for Rally Obedience.
